The X Games are an action sporting event managed and arranged by sports broadcasting giant ESPN. The inaugural X Games event was held in Rhode Island in 1995. Contenders compete for bronze, silver, and gold medals in addition to prize money. Events featured in the games include skateboarding, motocross, rally car racing, and BMX. New action sports tricks are often unleashed during the X Games, such as Travis Pastrana’s double back flip and Tony Hawk’s 900.
