He's My Brother She's My Sister is a Los Angeles-based folk-rock group formed by siblings Robert and Rachel Kolar. The remaining members are Oliver Newell on the upright bass, Aaron Robinson on slide guitar, and Laren Brown, their drummer who also doubles as a tap dancer for the band. HMBSMS - self-described as "glam-folk", "cirque rock", and "desert pop" - embodies a youthful and vintage spirit, allowing their music to sound vaguely familiar yet still modern. The band has performed at the Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, and Bonnaroo, and has shared the stage with bands like Fitz and the Tantrums, Local Natives, and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes. They released a self-titled EP in 2010, followed by their debut album, Nobody Dances in This Town, in October of 2012.
