Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, aka Kid Cudi, is an American hip-hop artist based in Brooklyn, NY. He released his first mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi, in 2008, featuring the single "Day 'n' Nite". "Day 'n' Nite" went viral, generating a significant amount of buzz and attention from fans and the music industry. Kanye West signed Kid Cudi to his GOOD Music label and in 2009, Kid Cudi released his debut album Man on the Moon: The End of Day. His sophomore album was titled Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, but did not reach the success of his Certified Gold debut.
Kid Cudi has been involved in other projects, forming a rock band, WZRD, as well as his own label called WIcked Awesome Records. WZRD released its debut album February 28, 2012 which charted at #3 on the Billboard 200. Kid Cudi also landed a starring role in the HBO Entourage spin-off series, How to Make It in America. The show was cancelled in 2011, bringing Cudi's focus back to music.
In April 2013, Kid Cudi announced his decision to leave Kanye West's GOOD Music label, assuring fans that the departure was amicable. That same month, he released his third studio album, Indicud. The record featured a diverse roster of guest artists, from HAIM to Father John Misty, and even Michael Bolton.
